Fibes Oh Fibes!

Swedish Band “Fibes oh Fibes” is becoming one of the most successful rock band in Sweden ,currently they released a new video “One Hour Baby” which they had amazing reviews from well known music experts.

Christian Olsson is a lead singer in the band and he is also a friend of mine and project manager in HyperIsland. He gave me the Fibes oh Fibes CD to listen and trust me once you hear their songs you will like to hear them more, I just decided to be their official fan from now, keep on reading..

Fibes oh Fibes Biography (Source from their website)
www.fibesohfibes.com

Fibes, Oh Fibes! is a six piece band from Göteborg on the West coast of Sweden. Fibes, Oh Fibes! was founded in 2001 and released the EP “Fibes, Oh Fibes!” before their debut album “Still Fresh” was put out in May 2004.

The band has already been celebrated as one of Sweden’s most interesting newcomers. Their single “This City’s Got No Boulevards” has received frequent play on Swedish radio, the video has been shown on the Swedish TV-channel ZTV and the album has gotten great reviews - 4/5 or 5/5 from many of Sweden’s leading music journalists.

How does the music sound then? Some would describe it as mature rock or pop on speed, but words never did Fibes, Oh Fibes! any good - the best thing is, of course, to hear it for yourself. You will be amazed! The members of the band are: Christian Olsson - Vocals and piano wizard, Mathias Nilson - Guitar, Edvin Edvinson - Bass, Andreas Jensen - Drums, Erik Dahl - Trombone and Andres Boson - Trumpet.

In what online Sweden is most interested in?

Sweden Google I was checking the “Zeitgeist” Google’s page that is regularly updated to reflect lists, graphs, and other tidbits of information related to Google user search behavior, and I was curious to know in what field Swedish people are more interested on.

Aftonbladet query is leading in the first place as the real news source and up to date portal for Sweden, but in the rest of the list is fully competition query for celebrities such as Britney, Paris Hilton, Pamela, Carmen Electra ect. Comparing to US users that are searching the news about their presidential candidates Kerry vs. Bush, in Sweden everything is calm as always, the people look forward more to entertain their self rather being involved in politics which is amazing thing. Here is the full list of Google most search queries:

1. Aftonbladet - Swedish online portal updated frequently with news related in all areas including international news as well.

2. Britney Spears - Why does the Swedish people still search for Britney, what do they get from her?. I’m surprised how she still “owns” the teenage target audience especially in Nordic countries.

3. Blocket - I was searching about Blocket as well because I wanted to buy a bike and I haven’t done that thanks to Bjorn (Nale) who is giving me his bike quiet often. Blocked is Swedish eBay even more popular.

4. Paris Hilton - is one of the most hysterical noncelebrity celebrities ever and is enjoying sundance to the hilt (Googlism source)

5. dc++ - Google doesn’t know yet about dc++, but if you search for DC as a query, sends you at DC Comics or you can go to Washington DC.

6. Lunarstorm - is the by far biggest online community in sweden and was elected best swedish website 2002 by internet world. Hold on, I went at W3C and this site is not validated with web standards (W3C). Never mind, the priority of the visit to this site is to meet new friends, hmm that’s great. Swedish young people want to be more socialised, perfect!.

7. Lexikon - I guess this Swedish - English lexicon website was more searched by foreign people in Sweden, I’m providing you with good link to learn basic Swedish: Learn Swedish

8. Snyggast - Another online community for young people in Sweden.

9. Pamela Anderson - No Comment!

10. Carmen Electra - No Comment!

More information of other countries top search queries visit this link: Google Zeitgeist, let’s see what will we have by the end of this month!

Switching to Made in Japan - Finished in Sweden product

I was struggling and fighting with my Nokia phone device from this summer, low battery, losing connections and other problems, that was great because I just entered third year with the same phone that I bought as new in summer 2001. I usually like phones that have good usability and fast access and connections that is what I call usefulness.

I was talking one day to Sverker (HyperIsland) about the Telecommunication devices and he just strongly recommended me to have a Sony Ericsson phone showing me amazing interaction with his Mac PowerBook G4.

For long time I’m not much associated with Sony brand, while ago I had a Sony TV which exploded in the middle of the night but due to fast intervention with members of my family we managed to put down the fire and to rescue our home, Remember!!! That was Sony TV brand…after that nightmare I started to dislike this brand…

I went to Vodafone store in Karlskrona and I was covered with Japan-Swedish products which they deserve maximum respect, just to make the point of the story I asked the guy who works there “What do I get if I buy an Sony-Ericsson mobile phone?” He answered to me: “You get GPRS, MMS, Bluetooth, WAP and other services explaining other benefits of the Vodafone Live!” in related to the phone which was created specially for Vodafone users.
This is great! He knows how to sell the product (I was asking for any free tools such as Bluetooth USB or something else), in other places (countries) the seller will automatically start telling me that I get free collar, fancy mobile bag, color screen in the phone, smile from all the sellers in the store ect.

I bought the phone and start to try it.
After the charging procedure I got my phone turned on. Ups! Immediately I went online through WAP, I got message that I’m not registered yet, Ups! I clicked yes and then “Message has been sent” where? dunno! I got an SMS, I got another SMS, third SMS, wired. My SIM card was turned into English before but I’m still getting Swedish SMS, I guess now I’m registered, then comes the message “You don’t have any number in phone Import?, by default Yes! Loading….then I was trying to stop everything to see the main view of the phone! I did hmmm! I dragged the button-cursor up and I went online again. Damn! Every time I pressed something I went online.

Hold on! I’m interesting to connect Bluetooth or Infrared with my computer! I got a Sony Ericsson CD in phone pack, let’s install that. As always stupid Windows request restarting, Install Communication Suites now! Restart, Install Image Editor, Restart, Install MMS Studio, Restart!

I clicked the installed restarted programs and communication with phone, fail, unable to connect! What the heck is this?
My Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo D (now Japan-German) laptop doesn’t have any Bluetooth port, or Infrared Port, I just gave up for that night! Let’s call a friend of mine in Kosovo to hear what is the situation after elections there, “sorry you don’t have enough credits to call this number”

How come?
I checked the credit status and: “You have 15 Kr (Krona) and 72 Ora”. What? Where did I spend money? Aha!! I know it’s a thing called Sony Ericsson (Made in Japan - Finished in Sweden) and its online connection…this is just a beginning! I decided to switch…what can I do else?

Birthday Party

It’s my birthday today! So from now on I’m 22 years old. Last night I spent wonderful time partying and talking to some of Crew 10 students. Very impressive thoughts!
Tonight is the rest of the party! I’m going with some friends to play Bowling and then to eat some birthday cake :). Yesterday HyperIsland gave me as a present dictionary for me English - Swedish, I can start learn Swedish from now.

Thanks to all people that sent to me emails, sms, greeting cards, and phone calls. I’m proud of you! Thank you again!
