“We’ve earned our independence”

Transcript of my reaction for France 24 observer regarding Kosovo’s Republic Independence

We had a great party last night. People never stopped singing. Many were crying with joy, thinking about all we lost in the war. We have fought hard for this independence and we deserve it. Of course, Kosovo’s economy is not brilliant at the moment. But I’m confident about the future because we have many young people; more than 50% of the country is under 35. They generally speak English, because we’ve lived eight years under the mandate of the UN, and they’re well trained in the domain of new technologies and the internet - 23% of Albanians have Internet access and development is quick. So Albania is an ideal place for industries to use for some of their activities. That’s what happened in Estonia, which became quite powerful in the new-technology domain after its independence. We can do that too.

The foreign media worries a lot about the Serbs in Kosovo being persecuted, but there’s no chance that will happen. Firstly because we’re not naïve. We haven’t waited all this time for our independence to throw it all away now, especially when the Serb minority doesn’t even pose a problem. Secondly, we signed the Ahtisaari agreement, from the ex-president of Finland that was posted to Kosovo by the UN to protect the Serbian minority. Most of the Serbs over here are much better treated than the Kosovars over there. In fact, they’re even privileged.

I’d say that more than 90% of the population is waiting for EU integration. I don’t think our independence will start any new wars. Problems in Yugoslavia were started in Kosovo, and they’ll end with Kosovo too.”

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2007

Happy 2006 - Back in 2005 Owerview

Happy 2006 - Back in 2005 Overview

Now when just couples of hours are dividing us from 2005, let’s take the moment to look back on what I did this year that is going to end in less than 2 hours tonight.

As also previous years also this year had good times and the bad times as well, but I can say that this year was year of success, happiness and network. This was definitely year of network with friends, people and special friends that I met during this year.

Not to forget the unforgettable summer vacation I had this year with Agne, Jeton and Dovile in Saranda Coast in south Albania, then joining IPKO Institute heading Research and Development Department and also lecturing in Going Online, E-Commerce, and Information Systems modules for Crew 3 the third generation of entrepreneurs from IPKO Institute Management Program School.

There were also really interesting cultural events in Kosova and in other countries in summer 2005; I can divide the Faithless concert in Skopje, Live 8 concert in London which this year was very successful and the exhibition of my brother “Art Today” in August which broke some of “Art Traditions” in Kosova

What really went bad this year was the phenomenon blogger, I was really passive blogger this year and I focused more into the development which took most of my time.

Regarding the international events I participated in International Project Management conference that was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia. During my time in Ljubljana It was great to meet my friends Matt and Mojca there.

And at the end I had two weeks vacation in Kosova with my friends, Agne, Dovile, Jeton, Ed, Sanja, Kate who came to Kosova to spend their Christmas and New Year. Parties still going on, for New Year I hope that will duplicate 2005. I hope that year 2006 will be year of success in our lives.

As my friend Visar wrote me an SMS I will quote:
“I wish you harmony in family, correction in job, health in life, fun in bed, friendship in streets, happiness in home and I wish you a pleasant new year 2006”

Happy New Year 2006!!!

Firefox 50 Million Downloads

I still remember when Firefox 1.0 got officially launched in 09 November 2004 immidietaly they hit 1 Million Downloads and everyone thought that time only geeks were downloading to try it out but today we can prove that everyone does.

Today I created a small task for my self to spread firefox around my office, well at least i switched Ali (my colleague) and he seems to liked it a lot. Contributing in that I also created Firefox Mouse Pad and Screen Saver for my Sony Ericsson which I shared during the lunch break via Bluetooth. At 17:55 PM European time I was also witness when counter hit 50,000,000 downloads of Firefox.

French food is totally disaster

French Food

I’m really enjoying time on France but what I don’t like the most is the food here, It really sucks. You keep trying to eat and you can’t. Anyway today I was winning the battles and it was incredible good the session for globalization.
Tonight I have a party, a huge one and for sure I will become drunk and I will stay till morning awake because I’m passing from party to party.
