IoT & Infrastructure

Kushtrim Xhakli is a technology executive focused on IoT, digital connectivity, and commercial scaling across Europe. He has led cross-functional teams spanning engineering, go-to-market, and strategic partnerships.

As Co-Founder and CEO of Connected Baltics in Estonia, he led the rollout of a national IoT network and positioned the company as a high-impact operator in machine-to-machine connectivity. At Connected Inventions in Finland, he drove international growth in enterprise IoT products and partnerships.1

In the Tallinn area, he led one of Estonia’s first city-scale smart water metering rollouts, helping bring practical digital transformation to both municipal operations and the wider market.2 He played a hands-on role from start to finish, including securing key negotiations and partnerships for the deployment. The solution used Kamstrup (Denmark) devices connected over Sigfox, and the installed meters remain operational today.34

Estonia infrastructure buildout journey
Estonia developed nationwide IoT coverage in 2017, creating the infrastructure layer for long-term connected-device deployments across the country.
Tallinn smart water metering project context
Tallinn became one of the pioneer cities in Estonia for long-term smart water metering projects running over the nationwide IoT network.

Hardware Commercialization

Most recently, he led international sales and business development at Connected Inventions Oy in Helsinki, driving 59% revenue growth over three years and expanding global market reach. The role included enterprise partnership development across multiple sectors and contribution to 12 IoT hardware devices and the accompanying software platform.5

IoT hardware business development in Finland

His IoT and Internet work combines technical execution with commercial delivery: building nationwide connectivity layers, deploying real-world sensor use cases, and turning infrastructure into measurable business outcomes.

Core focus areas

  • Nationwide IoT network buildout and LPWAN operations (Sigfox, LoRaWAN).
  • Utility and smart-city deployments (metering, telemetry, and remote monitoring).
  • Commercial scaling of IoT products from pilot phase to recurring enterprise revenue.
  • Strategic partnerships with operators, municipalities, and hardware vendors.
  • Go-to-market leadership for enterprise IoT: channel development, key accounts, and B2B sales execution.
